Sisterhood – Lucy and Ginger (CASM 64)

Lucy and Ginger are great fur babies and share a unique bond of sisterhood. The joy they bring me makes my heart swell with love. God uses them to mature and teach me valuable lessons. I have said before that God will use anything to get our attention and dogs are no different. We must be willing to learn even in unconventional ways.

Camera-ready – relaxing and enjoying their sisterhood

Watching these two help and encourage each other is a wonderful reminder. It shows how important it is to have the sisterhood of Jesus’ followers around me. Lucy is teaching Ginger the rules and Ginger is teaching Lucy not to become lazy with the rules. In areas where Lucy is weak, Ginger is helping her become stronger and more consistent. Lucy is helping Ginger grow into a mature fur baby. She’s assisting Ginger in leaving some of the immaturity of a puppy behind. Never become so smart that you can’t learn. Here are links one and two for the lessons on how God uses my dogs to teach me priceless lessons.

Sisterhood is about coming alongside other women and being an anchor for them. It’s about sharing the truth of Jesus in love and with compassion. It’s the ability to become vulnerable and share your bruises as a testimony to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Biblical sisterhood is not condemning her or condoning sin. It is pointing her to the Word of God and praying her through it. It’s laying down your judgment that would cast her aside and make her feel unworthy to be in your presence. I am extremely thankful for the women that have come alongside me. We have different looks, backgrounds, and goals, but what unites us in the sisterhood is the blood of Jesus Christ.

We all have a different journey in Christ. It’s important to view others’ journeys through the heart of Jesus, not what you think or what you would do. It’s also an opportunity to appreciate the work God is doing in another sister’s life. The word of God is the only standard for Jesus’ followers. A pure sisterhood operates within the boundaries and guidelines of the Holy Spirit. By His promptings, you will know when and when not to. Remember, truth without love is cruel, love without truth is foolishness.

  • Do you have a saved accountability partner (click link) that assists you in good and bad times?
  • Are you encouraging and praying for the sisterhood?
  • Is there a sister (or anyone) you’re condemning publicly or in your heart? If so, confess, repent, and make it right with Jesus.

Wow , this blog just woke me up this morning šŸŒ„. What an interesting way to understand how God wants us to have relationships with each other! I know I have learned to look back and see how God has used a situation that I thought wasn’t going to work out but ended up putting all the pieces of the puzzle together perfectly together in the end. I had to trust in the process šŸ’Æ. I love you and Lucy and Ginger! This blog is amazing šŸ‘

  2. Carol itā€™s so good to see you and ā€˜Come Along Side Meā€™ back. Your words are always so encouraging and uplifting, even to a senior citizenā€™ like mešŸ˜‰. We are never too old to learn and grow. I love your examples of how the Lord teaches us in sometimes the simple thingsā¤ļø. I can remember coming to that conclusion wanting to do something profound for the Lord and realizing a smile, seeing someone needs a helpful ear can be what Jesus is asking if us. We are His hands and feet, Jesus in the Flesh to others. Thank you Carol for all that you share here. Iā€™m going over all the previous Come Along Side Of Me emails to help refresh and move forward to what the Lord wants of me. Love you Carolā¤ļø
