His presence is enough (CASM 23)

God will not always allow a physical person to come alongside you. Sometimes it’s only His presence that he wants to be enough. One of the things on my to-do list was some painting. This project I had been putting off and hoping someone would do it for me. I went sincerely to the Lord in prayer on a Wednesday evening. I asked for His inspiration, motivation, focus, desire, skill, and energy. That same evening, I came up with my plan just to focus on one area to paint. On Thursday I made a list of what I needed. Friday went to the store and got my supplies and started painting Friday evening. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the painting project and I learned some new skills and techniques. I took my time and had fewer mistakes and frustrations.

Jeremiah 33:3 KJV says Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. God answering me is always great and mighty regardless of how big or small the circumstance or task may be. Although this project was daunting to me, the power of the name of Jesus broke right through and I was able to go to the other side.

God cares

I understand you may have something more serious than a painting project. What this example shows is that God cares about every area of our lives. He is willing and able to calm any situation but He desires fellowship and a personal relationship with you. The same Jesus that I called on is the same Jesus we must call on for all things. Circumstances may not change immediately or the way we want, but God will give us what we need to endure and the Fruit of the Spirit will rise within.

It can be a challenge for us when our circumstances are slow to correct themselves, it can be tempting to turn and run away from God. I understand the frustration, but if we run away from God, we run right into the arms of the devil. The devil is not our friend, he is not looking out for our best interest. He puts every temptation and stumbling block in our path to encourage us to deny Christ. He can’t have our spirit, but if he can get a hold of our mind, we won’t be able to testify of the Lord Jesus.

Don’t leave Jesus your first love. Utilize your saved accountability partners. Focus on God’s presence and how He brought you out of the pit many times over. He will give you a new vision, perspective, restoration, and refreshment. Let the Holy Spirit open your heart and present you with new opportunities. It may not be that your circumstance is not changing, it just may look different than what you thought.

Little things can be the most profound

I have so many examples of how God has led, guided, instructed, and provided comfort for me. In general, the world would not consider them news worth or groundbreaking, but for me, mountains were moved. Desires were fulfilled, feelings were healed, wrongs were forgiven, and so much more. It’s those little special moments between you and the Lord that someone else may not understand, or doesn’t think it’s a big deal, but are majorly impactful for your growth.

Have you ever had someone call or text right at that moment you were about to fall apart, and they say you came to my mind and I am praying for you? That’s His presence. I have had moments when an issue arises and I don’t have an immediate solution. God showed me when and how I needed to pivot and He provided a ram in the bush for me. That’s His presence. Meditate on these little moments of how God orchestras and strategically positions you to receive His blessings, knowledge, and comfort. It’s not by mistake or chance.

In Conclusion

God is available to us all the time. There is not a time that He is not available. God is always speaking, showing, guiding, teaching, protecting, providing, listening, and loving on us. We have to choose to fellowship with the Lord. We have to choose to be in His presence and receive His presence. Being in His presence is a daily choice.

ACTION ITEM(S)

  • Is there a circumstance in your life that God could be presenting different opportunities for?

I like the reminders in the action items! I have been trying to work on giving HIM praises where they are due for what HE has done. Even writing them down and being able to look back at all HE has done.

After that, I will read my Bible (NLT) and a devotional or two. This is my time to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-20). In fact, that’s the last thing I read before I exit my War Room. Now I feel that I am equipped for the day.

You mention difficult circumstances. There have been times in my life that I knew I was helping God fix my situation. Sometimes I did fix it, other times I completely exacerbated it. But either way, He did not need my help. The best thing I could have done was wait on Him (Isaiah 40:31). One of the things I’ve learned on my spiritual journey is that God has a time for everything, which is His word in Ecclesiastics 3:1-8. When life becomes challenging, I must remind myself that God is in control, His plan is perfect. His will be done, not mine. I’ve learned to run toward Him and not away. Sometimes this is difficult, primarily because I want results instantly. Now when temptation and stumbling blocks cross my path, I think about how Jesus prevailed when tempted in the wilderness. We must be patient and remember as His word says in Romans 8:28, that all things are working together for the good of them that loves the Lord.

I want to share with you some words from a devotional that I’ve posted on a wall in my War Room; “God will either change your circumstance or He’ll change your perspectives of the situation. His will for us is always better than our own plan for us.”
I totally agree that God is available to us at all times. We must make time for Him daily. The Bible says to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Praise and give thanks to Him in all situations; the good, the bad, and the ugly.

As the song says and I believe it; “He walks beside me, all the way, He guides my footsteps every day. Never again will I be insecure anymore. For me, His presence is more than enough

    1. Margaret, I agree God the Creator knows what’s best. Actively waiting on Him by doing those things He called us to do like studying the Bible, church attendance, praying, and being a help to others is the best things we can do. Thank you for sharing!
