Golden nuggets (CASM 28)

Things that happen in other people’s lives can be golden nuggets of wisdom and lessons for us. Sometimes God uses someone else’s life to show us we are getting ready to step into disobedience. It can be to nudge us to give thanks for His mercy and sparing us. Maybe, just as a reminder for us to count our blessings and be aware of His presence. Whatever the reason, be alert because God is always trying to show us something.

Remember while He is using someone else’s life for you, He is using your life for someone else. I know for myself sometimes I forget that God is using me for others, and it doesn’t always look or feel good. He also may not be using me the way I think He should. Frustration can quickly rise if I’m not vigilant in recalling that God is sovereign and His plan is right, just, and complete. I must repent of my pride before I begin to question God, asking Him why and not in a good way.

Small nuggets

There have been times I was working on a project totally stumped on how to figure something out. The power of the Holy Spirit dropped knowledge into my heart, and the problem was resolved. I give great thanks for those nuggets that seem so minor and insignificant. The small nuggets have profound results and outcomes. Don’t overlook them as normal day-to-day events. These are tiny miracles that aid in propelling us forward. They are tiny rays of sunshine that turn a frown upside down.

If you make calling on the Lord a daily practice, your heart will pick up on those small golden nuggets a lot quicker. When you only call on Him when things are dark it’s harder, and usually, your emotions have taken over. Train your mind and heart to seek out the golden nuggets by being still and looking back over your day, week, etc. You will be amazed at how much love and direction God gave you that you overlooked by operating in your emotions.

Willingness

Jesus is always available through the Holy Spirit who reveals limitless power-packed golden nuggets with a bang. John 14 gives great insight that shows us how to connect with Him. Before we can connect we have to be willing to let go of what we think we know and our way of doing things. If you are not willing to humble yourself you are not going to get the God results that you crave and desire. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life for salvation and to navigate through this earthly life. Do you notice it says Jesus, not us or anyone or anything else, not even a little bit of us? We must keep His commandments because we love Him. We can keep His commandments because the Holy Spirit dwells/lives in us and is teaching and reminding us of them.

When we keep the commandments of Jesus, He reveals Himself on a continual and deeper level. Don’t forsake the peace and comfort of the Holy Spirit because you are operating in your emotions and not by faith in Jesus. Have you allowed your thoughts to sabotage and tear down your own house and everything God so lovingly built? Guard your eyes and ears. Be careful what you allow to take root in your heart, it does not take much for it to become hardened.

In conclusion

Remind yourself to pray for the person whose life is being used to reveal golden nuggets to you. You should also ask the Lord if and how you should extend yourself to them. Give thanks that your heart was open to receive God’s enlightenment and make application of it. Consider it an honor when God is using you to draw someone closer to Him. Share the golden nuggets with others, this is one way we help them grow and develop discernment.

  1. Amen! This is a very humbling blog. I am truly grateful for the people God has placed in my path to provide nuggets to get me from one place to the next. I am now reminded to pray, appreciate, and love them more.

BUT I say it’s humbling because it’s more than a notion to think that God can and will use my life to do the same!! It truly is an honor to be used of the Lord in any capacity! This reminds to love and cherish Him more.
