God’s resolution (CASM 53)

We can sometimes focus on an issue or concern so intently that we don’t realize God resolved it. God provided a resolution and we are still complaining, fussing, and worrying about the issue instead of giving thanks. We’re on the phone or social media sharing what is wrong in our lives and God already worked it out. In some cases, He worked it out before we even prayed about it.

Stop rehashing

I encourage you to share how God is transforming and using you, that’s what comealongsideme.com is about. Talk about specific things that God is showing and teaching you. Share your story and testimony, but it’s a difference between rehashing and edifying. If what you’re saying is stirring up ungodly feelings and emotions and not building others up, rethink if you need to say it. Sometimes we feel the need to share every hurt and disappointment in life and not share how Jesus provided, healed, and comforted us. If we continue to replay our misfortunes over and over and do not acknowledge and accept God’s resolution, we will begin to hate our journey.

Talk to God

If you find yourself replaying your misfortunes over and over, ask yourself why. There is a reason(s) why you choose to do that. It can be due to fear, a forgiveness issue, or an issue with your first love, Jesus Christ. Whatever the reason is, be willing to do business with the Lord so He can free you from that toxic behavior. There’s freedom from those things that bind us when we humble ourselves before the Lord. We are not slaves to our former lives, thinking, and habits. Jesus took care of all that on the cross.

Gratitude for God’s resolution

Sometimes when God resolves an issue it takes a different path than the scenario in my mind. In my version, there’s no discomfort or stretching and pulling. It’s extremely easy with sunshine and colorful flowers along my path and no humidity. SMACK, I am abruptly slapped back into reality. There’s rain, sleet, snow, blurry vision, and uncertainty, but. Thanks be to God that He didn’t leave me stuck without a resolution. As I go through my journey, I have grown to appreciate the twist and turns God has allowed. I didn’t say I always like them or that it always feels good. The reason I can appreciate the twist and turns is due to the unlimited examples of God rescuing me from sin, shame, and myself.

When I am tempted in any way to question my Savior’s plan for me, I start to recall and speak out loud about the many provisions He has made for me. I speak scriptures over myself and my situation. Gratitude begins to flow from my heart towards my Lord for taking those things that the devil meant for my demise and allowing me to rise above. I am thankful that the twist and turns are proving my love, dedication, and commitment to my Creator. He deserves nothing less.

In conclusion

God’s resolution may look different than what we originally desired. His mercy and love are in every solution. It is a conscious daily choice to see, accept, and appreciate God’s goodness and provision toward us. Speaking from personal experience, life has taken some turns that have made me more vibrant and life more exciting. I would not have picked for my life to go that way, and God knew that, and He also knew it was going to impact my life for the better. God honors the faithful. Let Him make the necessary changes to and for you so that your life is more vibrant and exciting.

  1. Thank you for highlighting this topic!! All too often we want to rehash and repeat constantly our hurts and pains because we want others to share in them and give us much sympathy and pity for what we had to endure. Doing this causes us to maintain a victim mentality. We forget the truth that we fell victim to a circumstance BUT overall we are victorious in Jesus!! In fact we are more than conquerors through Him that loves us!

The action items are the starting path to the journey for a mindset shift!

Next, I couldnโ€™t agree more. It is very dangerous when we think we have it together and we donโ€™t fall short in this area.
This is something the enemy sure does try to use in my life. Throwing darts all day.
I am very thankful for God and how he has given me a Christian family and support. Where we can help one another in Christs love.
I have to be careful in my marriage specifically not to allow hurt pasts come up in my mind and ruin what Gods working on.
When I pray and give it to the Lord, I forget the wrong words or things done. I truly donโ€™t remember them. The Lord erases them and I am able to forgive and move on. And focus on what HES doing!

Thank you so very much for your insight and clarity. I am guilty of rehashing and because of this blog I will have to adjust my mental health. God has always provided and protected me from different and difficult times. Praise God that he is our Father and that He is loving and patient with us as we navigate through this process ๐Ÿ™
