Annual evaluation (CASM 51)

Reflect on this past year as if Jesus was sitting across from you performing your yearly evaluation. He’s not condemning or nailing you to the cross, but He is critiquing your commitment and obedience to Him. He’s evaluating if He can trust you to go into the harvest. The evaluation is not based on how you look compared to other individuals. It’s strictly about what you did or didn’t do to increase your connection to Jesus Christ. The wonderful thing about this evaluation is that Jesus will not fire you, His love will not decrease, and He will not retaliate.

Between you and the Lord

PLEASE ANSWER THE QUESTIONS HONESTLY. THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP WITH CHRIST ARE CONTINGENT UPON THEM.

  • Did you grow and mature spirtually this year? If yes, how? If no, why not and what should you do differently?
  • What did you do to aid in the increase of your spiritual growth?
  • Has your prayer life increased from the previous year? Are you praying more impactful prayers?
  • Did busyness and an abundance of activities replace time with the Lord or distract you from your main purpose?
  • Did the past hinder you from going forward for Jesus in a particular area?
  • How did you react when Jesus changed your plan(s)?
  • Was the Bible the final authority in your decision making and encounters?
  • Did you waver in your belief because your circumstance changed?
  • Is there a trigger that you submitted to Jesus and it has improved?
  • While you were waiting for God to reveal something to you, did you murmur and complain or use the time to prepare?
  • Were your words and actions in contradiction with God’s standards?
  • Did your family see a positive change in you?
  • How would others describe their encounters with you?
  • Did you involve yourself in matters that God did not position you for?
  • Has the use of harsh words increased, decreased, or remained the same?
  • Did you make decisions according to your feelings and emotions?
  • Did you come alongside someone to encourage and help them navaigate through life?
  • What does your commitment to the Lord for next year look like?
  • Are you satisfied with your annual evaluation?

  1. Carol! Thank you for this! This outline and picture of questions to ponder. And like you said as if Jesus was sitting there doing our evaluation. So good!
What a blessing! I’m going to print this off and put it in my binder. There are so many GOOD questions! What a great tool for the coming year also to reflect on!

  2. These are some GREAT questions!! I don’t think we really take the time to complete an in depth evaluation of our walk with Christ! I’m so grateful God allowed you to rise as resource to help keep us on track!!

Thank you for the time you put in to allow us to come alongside you!!

    God bless you richly!!!
